Wind and Weather Forecaster Wanted
Quite a while ago someone posted a three day wind and weather web site that was very good. My computer crashed and I lost the site. I searched here for it but cannot find it.
Does anyone remember or use the site? It was a guy's beta web site and it gave very accurate wind forecasts by the hours for most of the country.
Thanks, Carl

Re: Wind and Weather Forecaster Wanted
Here are a couple of sites I use to get wind forecast. The first is an aviation site, as I also fly a powered paraglider, that I found to be quite accurate for three days and the other is a wind finder web site which also does a nice job. If they don't have your location there should be one that is close to get you valuable wind info.

Try this one. I use it all the time, and the amount of information available is outstanding. You can sign up for a free account, or if you need additional information (like text messages at specific wind conditions and other wireless services) you can pay as necessary.

Windmapper.com was the one. The others are good also. It sure is great to have this Mac site available.
Thanks Carl

Re: Wind and Weather Forecaster Wanted
Recently I found the following "toy":
http://www.opencpn.org/
It´s free (open source).
Version 1.3.6 is great.
It accepts NMA data from my handheld GPS (serial/usb) with display of boat symbol on PC screen.
It works with BSB charts as well CM93 (probably some other).
Compatible with AIS data and...
Something called GRIB that overlays weather symbols on the screen.
I work with UGRIB ..
http://www.grib.us/
Need to be registered. You can download weather files of your area for 2 or 3 days.
