Genua roller question

Post by johan_ande »

Hi,

I've noticed that my genua roller didn't make it thou the winter. :( The plastic parts between the ALU profiles has cracked. My problem is that I don't know what kind of roller I have. I have tried to find any markings on it but without success. Is there anyone here who knows what brand it is and where I can find spare parts?

Could this roller been delivered with the boat? Was this an option back in 1991?

I've uploaded some pictures at http://picasaweb.google.com/johan.ande/GenuaRoller#

The boat is a -91 26S that is currently on land waiting for 40cm of ice to melt.. :)

Kind regards
Johan

Could it possibly be an older Facnor furler? Your photo 3 looks somewhat like the Facnor SD furler head, and the halyard looks as though it runs inside the foil (as it appears to in the Facnor "SD" brochure on Facnor UK's web page).

Hi,

I have contacted Facnor and they didn't recognize the roller furler. Any other suggestions? I'm going to check with Furlex (Seldén) and Plastimo.

Kind regards

I don't know what kind it is. It's hard to tell looking at the pictures what part is broken. Looks like a nice furler! Is it really too far gone to use?

Hi,

Unfortunatly is it the part that holds the ALU profiles together that is broken. It was not much left of if to save. That part is the part that I'm holding in my hand on the pictures. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with the furler.

Kind regards
Johan
