I need help with setting up my rigging and sailing lessons for a 2004 Mac in the Denver area. I have contacted the local Kelly Hanson rep to purchase sails/various parts and have some blisters removed from the hull. But when I inqired about sailing and rigging I found out that he did not have much (if any) experience with a MAC M. I have downloaded the owners manual from the factory website. Also the local dealer I was referred to by the factory has discontinued business. I purchased this boat at a local auction so no PO to ask for assistance.
I have very limited (almost none) prior boating or sailing experience ( couple of crews for a friend on an interlake and a day cruise with my son on his 37' Tayana in Hawaii).
I am confident the local KH rep would provide skilled sailing lessons but I am less confident he would know the details of properly rigging a Mac M...but maybe I am just over sensitive..ignorance can make me that way. Just thought I would make an inquiry on this site for any suggestions...it has become my favorite over the last few months.

I'm in Colorado Springs and have a 2000 X. Don't know much about the M but between the two of us we should be able to figure it out. I'm guessing the best thing to do is to meet and go thru a set up and tear down once before we try to get you wet. We can take this off line and set up the details if you're interested.
Second option would be to call The Anchorage in Lyons. John and Eilleen have taken it back over and are the local Mac rep and really super people. Try theanchorage.com and give them a call.

I would recommend you also get a book on sailing. I got mine from Amazon. That will help a lot with the basics, terminology, saftey, etc... And if you got time and the money you can take a weekend sailing course. I took ASA 101/103 over a three day weekend.
I have a 26m in fort collins and can help you too. I even spend some weekends in denver now and then. most of the sailing north of denver centers on carter lake. I have a friend who knows the denver sailing classes so I will ask and let you know about that. send me a private message with your e mail and contact information and we can go from there. go to user control and then private messages. it hasnt worked that well for me in the past but maybe we can figure out how to use private messages.
