Blue Hull !

Post by stoway »

All,

I have a 2005 26M with a Blue Hull.

The colour has now begun to fade and is now very patchy in apperance, and to be honest looks awful. I have polished with a fibreglass polish with very little effect.

Has anyone a had a similar experince ?

I applied Zymol Wax on the Blue Hull & Black Bands only, 2 coats, by hand & hand buffed. I used Aluma Guard on all of the SS and on the Mast.

You should post pic's so we can see how bad your Mac is.

Is the Zymol wax the best one to use in a White hull to leave it shinny like yours ?

I would think so, why not ? Give it a try...it'll also make your car, van, motorcycle and RV look great too ! If you have HEAVY oxidation you might have to apply another product first and then the Zymol. As you can see from the pic's I posted that my Mac was MEDIUM to HEAVY oxidized. I only used the Zymol plus a lot of elbow grease, you'll rub your Cannoli's off but it's worth it.

I'm going to try the Nufinish($6.75) because they say that it is made for Fiberglass also.
I'll post the results.
But I would try rubbing compound first to try to erase all of the old name I just removed.

I just finished polishing my Blue hull, white areas and black stripes. I used 3m marine rubbing compound for boats for heavy oxidized or scratched surfaces 17$ and Meguires Step 2 deep crystal system polish 15$ . I am satisfied with the results.
