Bill:
Maybe It's a Hodag going south for the winter; it's starting to get cold up in Rhinelander.
Seriously, It could be a mink or remotely possibly a fisher. I know the DNR introduced fishers in the northwoods some years back. My guess is that it may be a mink.
By the way, the gentlemen from Neenah you sold the 26M to this summer are having a riot with it on Lake Winnebago!

Here's further good (professional) advice from one having a lot of gun experience. Shooting a hole in the ceiling is a sure sign, your aim is a little off ---Bill at BOATS 4 SAIL wrote:First of all, I would like to thank all of you for your scientific and professional advice.
I already have one bullet hole in my office ceiling.
Bill, here's a workable solution, 99.9% guarantee:
Close up all office holes with clumps of steel wool, which will secure the critter in the office. Stop leaving your partially eaten burgers, sandwiches, donuts, crumbs, etc. laying around which is probably feeding the critter. Then, set your "live animal" traps baited for a hungry critter. You'll have it caged within a week.
Be sure to provide a bowl of water at all times...because without water, and if too thirsty, it will be slow to respond to the bait in the trap..Happy Hunting.
If you want to identify the critter before the capture...move some of the office furniture to locate some of the animal sh'xt. Then, gather up some of its stool droppings...and take'em over to the library. They'll even show you a picture of the animal

My wife works at a library and if you bring her a pile of critter sh!t, I can guarantee you that she will not only NOT help you identify the critter, but she will probably tell you where you can place your critter sh!t.

I just wanted to read his Post concerning what happened with his hand full-0-rat sh'xt when the Librarian finished calling 9-11 about a nutty old salty fella that wants the Library to analyze a buncha crap...
But, I wonder if your alert to Bill was too late...and someone carried him off in a cruizer already ?

Re: Office Critter
Glenn...
Bill, as you know, has a good sense of humor...and knows his "critter-thread" would open up a buncha' fun and kiddin' around.
He prolly has already caught the critter, and is sittin' around enjoying watching us rap with nutty-scientific posts, making nutzos of our selves --
...since he has been so quiet about his critter, Im beginning to wonder if we've all be 'sukkkered, baited, and gave him a good laugh.

Re: Office Critter
I've goggled every critter I could think of and it doesn't look like any of them.
If I catch it I'll stick a pencil up one end and deep fry it in hog lard like I do my twinkies (which taste just like eagle).

Bill,
Take a picture before it hits the deep fryer. We all want to see this creature.
