I had seasickness sneak up on me , one time.

We made the short crossing of the Gulf of Mexico , from Carabelle to Steinhatchee .
This is about a 12 hour crossing , out-of-sight of land for most of it.
Left early that morning in sometimes 6 foot seas, with NOAA promising good weather later on .
Sure enough the seas laid down and we found ourselves in calm, pleasant water.
Since I had been at the helm since 6:00 am , I decided to turn it over to Joanne , go below and get cleaned up. I'm at the sink , brushing my teeth and all of a sudden ,,,,,
I bolted for the deck , Joanne said I was pale as a ghost.

Once I got back on deck , I was fine. but I stayed out of the cabin the rest of the crossing. :macx:

I don't get sea sick. however, people that come with me often do.I have noticed most of them run out to the cockpit
area & spew over the side of the boat dripping it on the nice blue paint. Now before we depart each trip,we make
sure to buy the blue color gatoraid. Then it matchs the color of the boat :D

Ugh. The blue Gatorade would make me "seasick" on dry land. :D :D :D

Anyone can get seasick. Years ago I had a Carver Flybridge Cruiser (yes I know) - and I remember leaning over to mess with the anchor rode in fairly stiff seas, All of a sudden I felt quite bad, soon passed once we got moving but it happens. I also heard that ginger was good - probably the fizzy ginger ale soda would be good also

I'm shocked! A hale fellow you may be, but has it dawned on you how we'll ever keep this forum afloat if you keep making comments like those? After all, some of us have ladies that we marry an hold close to us, and if you keep making our lovey ones angry, then she may just profess her anger and we'd have to skip her. And that skinking feeling would surely lead to a real thirst on lovemaking. I encourage you to back us up and be mindful of your comments about the ladies.

Ginger was good but I think Mary Anne was better, she might even be better at preventing seasickness, but I won't 'dwell' on it. 8) Rob
