Last friday i was on my mac,my boat is the only one with its mast in the upright position,there is a tree about 15 feet away,anyhow there were some bolts of lightning in a very heavy rain strorm ,i was standing close to the companionway hatch with everything closed up and simultaineously i heard the crack and saw the flash,it sounded like a gun shot in my ear,it was a bit unerving and i cautiously looked out expecting to find my mast with a strike mark on it,to my delight i saw that the tree had taken the hit.
