One of my great joy's when visiting my grandmother's house was going to the toilet and reading 40 year old Reader's Digests.

Reminds me all too strongly of what happened to the original Sani-Pottie in Bossa Nova, when I brought her home from her former owner's marina. :x

Won't get into the Rabelaisan details. Let's just say that an old Sani-Pottie fits in any dumpster.

I haven't used my new, larger Dometic potty yet - but it's ready for duty when I'm ready to doody....

I have the 5 gallon holding tank Porta Potty . It was fine as it was, but I added a deck pump out connection and a Macerator pump with under the water line thru hull . My raw water pump is set up with momentary 12 v. Y valve that allows me to rinse the holding tank and macerate or pump out from the deck again... Nice thing about underwater thru hull for macerator is if I forget to pump out..... I can pull up to any walmart and quickly jump aboard and pump out my holding tank in front of their entrance door hahahaaa :D

The Porta Potti is the reason I am the Captain. :x

5 gal porta pot with deck pump out.....If you can't pump out....You can use the manual way take it to a bathroom and dump it out. The boat doesn't come with throu hauls so why put one in it defeats the purpose...Now you need 3 bilge pumps.....

I put my macerator through hull above the water line for this reason. It does have a shutoff of course, but there is no reason it has to be below the waterline. It pumps out in about 20 seconds. This is only legal offshore on the Cape for us (>3 miles out)

We have to lock the shutoff when we Great Lakes Sail, we dont have to do this lockout on the Hudson, we just cant use it.

I chose to install mine under the water line this allows and facilitates more rapid disbursement...I too have lock outs.

Worst story Ive heard on this was my racing partners J35. Marina forgot to pump him out and winterise one season, a roughly 40 gallon black water holding bladder froze in winter, fractured, and wasnt discovered for about 3 weeks of unusually hot spring weather. Quite the olfactory overload.
