Easter on Moreton Bay

The admiral is happy to put the boat in the water for Easter. Anyone else planing a trip on the bay over easter?

I've now settled on Plan B: version 4. I plan to explore Pumicestone Passage for a couple of days with my son. We will head off early Tuesday 14th overnight and return the following day. Hopefully catch a fish or some crustaaceans for dinner. I need to check the "no fish" zones in the passage. Would like to do this without buying a new chart, any thoughts there? Enjoy your Easter break.Hope to catch up again for another sail. They tell me the Bay to Bay in May is a great weekend.

Just back from 5 days on the water.

The damage up that part of town is amazing!!! Elanda Point camping grounds were closed for the first time ever with massive water damage! I will post some images when I get my phone charged. The lake was pretty full and there was a bit of debris (ie complete trees) floating around but we didn't have any issues. For those who know the area Teewah Jetty was underwater on our first night but then the lake dropped enough for us to tie up. All of the Noosa Everglades camp sites were closed. We spoke to some rangers who said there was a lot of damage and there is still whole trees coming down the river. They said it was OK to day trip up there with caution for submerged logs etc (we decided no to risk it).
The winds were good most days with 15 knots from the east which along with the high water made the retrieval of the boat from Boreen Point very difficult. (a power boat anchored just next to the ramp got swamped by the waves and sunk just as we got our boat on dry land).

Didn't make it this time but went out Tuesday and Wednesday, overnight at Scarborough. The Pumicestone will be the next time (weather permitting). I would sail or motor up as it's only about 20 odd nm from Shornecliffe. Just not sure if there is protected water on the bayside of the Bridge to lower the mast.
