New trailer tires not looking good?

Post by Mike Ford »

I just got new trailer tires by UPS from Trailer Parts Superstore but they do not look good! One is half inside out. The other looks deformed with the tread diameter at one side looking different from the other side. :|

Actually, they don't look too bad. That's the way they are packaged in China so they can get max amount into a container. :| :| I've seen worse and received worse. Once they are mounted and have 50-60 lbs. of air in them, they will be fine. The really hard part is getting them to stay on the bead of the rim so you can get the air in them. Have someone with a good tire machine mount them and you will be fine. For right now, pull them "open" and let them sit in the sun.

Email the pic bck to the store and get a response - - - -if for no other reason than documentation purposes - - - see what they say - - but Pat is probably correct.

Mike - I thought that after you wear out one side, you turn them inside out and wear out the other side...kinda like underwear..

Trailer Parts Superstore says this is normal for bias ply tires. Had them installed on the rims and they do look normal now. 8)
