I too have been working on an upgrade for the bow art. I mentioned that both the mac and the hunter 'needed' soemthing nautical up there,........suggesting of course something 3 dimensional on the mermaid thing......... you know extending out over the water.....We just put a new 66 lb claw anchor ( who uses the litte 33 pounders anyway.....) on the front of the hunter, and it is looking all lonely up there without a bowsprit with nice swedish flicka up there........

So I asked the admiral if she would do a little modeling for the form...... with some of that quickset foam the sculptors use........

and while she enjoyed being asked.......The artist part of her was placated....

her verbal response was a bit muted.........

something along the lines. of .".... you do want our daughters to come visit on the boat right..........???"

SO I guess I will have to be more sublte on my bowsprit art, and keep the nice curved forms on the boat and not in front of it.

SO perhaps someone has an idea for a molded fiberglass form faired into the boat sans woodwork and paint?

Darren

Thats why my decal is clothed ! but my daughters are very broadminded as you have met them you would remember !
Anyway installing something like you mentioned would most likely get stolen off the boat these days :o

Thanks John, I'll look at Kragen and Auto-Zones sites.

Broad minded, well spoken and polite to name a few more adjectives John!!

Was a very pleasant crew to cruise around with on that weekend.....

You are also probably correct on the disappearance issue for sprit art...

I would imagine the more handiwork and craftsmanship put into it.......the more some teenage gangbanger would want to trash it or take it.....and I wouldnt want to have to deal with me catching them in the act after I put 40 or 60 hours into it.....

Still,

If it was molded or glassed into the hull it would take more effort from a thief.... Kind of like a molded in transom..... not worth the effort to remove maybe.....

Moved to "Modifications" from "Powersailor". This is a modification which is applicable to all Mac's.

Here's what the full decal looks like as you can not see it all while the boat is on the trl
