Hi John,
Sorry, no can do.
We are in the USA till the end of the month. It could be that Morning Cloud (Ainsley Pollock, Cpt Haddock) might be on the water though, if so, say Hello.
We semi arranged to get together over the cup weekend.

Hi John, Boat is still packed away for winter even though today may have been a taste of things to come. We are probably going to have to wait until the Cup long weekend before we get out again. Planning on Paynesville. See what happens. Cheers Nick

It's a definite go for the Gippsland Lakes over the Melbourne Cup long weekend for Julie and I. If anyone is also down there look out for the fast white M. Cheers Nick

Have to get our motor checked as it is breaking down at high revs but should be able to get that done soon and also need to do a bit of tidying up with minor scratches and patches to the gelcoat before a major clean up but will try to make it down there.
Will probably make the trip into an extended stay of one or two weeks to justify the trip but soounds good.

Forget my last post, will have very little chance to get down there now but it is on the agenda prior to xmas and the mass influx.

Re: Gippsland Lakes Trip
We're planning on going down the lakes for four weeks around the Xmas period. Will hit the water on the 14 Dec and wander around for a bit. My son & partner will take the boat over for a week or so just after Xmas whilst we go off to Sydney to sail our skiff in the Nationals. Will return from the Nats to take my boat back off my son around the 4th Jan and go home on the 10th Jan. Am looking forward to catching up with a few fellow Mac owners.

Well,
we're down at lakes Entrance after sailing around for a week or so. Have ran into two Mac owners so far, neither are regulars to this forum. Ine blue, the other white (slow)!
Have taken some time out to jump into an Internet cafe and check out the e-mails. Will be leaving on the 26th to go up to Newcastle to race the skiff in the Nationals and will be back down the lakes for a week or so on the 4th Jan.
Really hoping to run into some Mac's! Where are you all hiding?
Enjoy
Brian

Re: Gippsland Lakes Trip
G'day Brian
Was all ready to go last friday the 12th but looked at the weather and said "no way" I wanted to spend at least 10 days to have a good poke around but according to the weather reports it would have been pretty unpleasant, boat is sitting there all ready to go but think it will go back into the shed until after the school holidays now.
Don't fancy being down there fighting for every inch of water for anchorage or putting up with stink boats, it will probably still be crowded later but should be better?, we missed our opportunity as we should have been down there earlier but that was not achievable and with a 1000k plus round trip it has to be for more than a few days.
May try to fit in a week or so on the bay and then go down to the lakes.

Re: Gippsland Lakes Trip
OK anybody going to be down the Lakes from the 30th Jan until about the 14th Feb we are nearly ready but put the mast up to have a check of everything as it hasn't been touched since we left the Gulf and bent a spreader.
Fortunately have two spares so it won't hold us up, I think we will be leaving the vehicle on Raymond Island at a friend of a friends place but as yet don't know where we will be or even where we will be putting in.
Would be great to catch up with anyone if they are there, we could even stay longer or drop into PPB on the way home although will probably leave that now until the Geelong trailer sailer festival in March.
Anybody wanting to make contact it is probably best to use mobile as the radios are rarely on 0427700909.
