Australia Group ... Posting Rules??

Post by Oskar 26M »

Many thanks to Heath for setting up this regional Group :)
In order to avoid fragmenting the main Forum and losing the collective input of Mac owners worldwide, I'd like to suggest we try to follow a few rules when posting to the newly established Australia Group ....

DONT use the Australia Group for general topic posts about:
* Macgregor Powersailer discussion,
* Performance and tuning,
* Trailers and towing, or
* Modifications.
Use the main forum for these threads.

DO use this group for topics related to:
* Australian events,
* Finding spare parts or repair facilities in Australia,
* Australian sailing and towing rules and regulations,
* Local Australian sailing information (eg, boat ramps, access roads, facilities, hazards) and
* Other stuff only of local Australian interest only.

Cheers

Sounds like a good way to start out, Oskar. One of the hesitations about creating a separate forum for folks from any other region is that we don't want to dilute the content of the other forums. So if we keep just the OZ stuff in the OZ forum, and any non-OZ content in the other forums where it belongs, I think we're good to go!

Thanks for helping clarify. Have you considered being a Mod? :) You could be an Oz-mod-ic solution! :D

I agree with Gordon (Oskar).

Keep the postings relevant to OZ items only.

Heath: Thanks for posting some "rules". Hopefully they will help to preserve the integrity of the main forum.

kmclemore: I am far to green on this forum to consider becoming an "Oz-mod-ic solution", lol :|

I agree also...to stick to purely OZ stuff like ramps and suppliers...What we should be doing is comparing the prices of hardware between OZ , Britain and the US. Seems to me the US hardware is a lot cheaper. I would be happy to buy necessary stuff through a site member and have them post it over...What do you think?
Its winter here now and rain rain, rain...We do need it but it slows down the sailing. But its never so bad that the :macm: has to be 'winterised'. 'She' is still happily hanging on her mooring...

True puggsy, rain, rain rain... [those beautiful blue skies in the background of Seahorse's pic should be recoloured a more ominous grey. :( ]
But you are right, even in winter here in the West there are great sailing days available :)
