Window Trim for Venture 25

Post by offline »

My window trim on my '75 25' Venture has shrunk inside and outside over the years and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get replacement trim.

Thanks,

If they are similar to the :macm: don't use them as replacements as they shrink within 6 months.

So should I just caulk them in and be done with it?

No idea what a venture trim looks like but this was an M after 12 months.

I have the same situation. My windows don't leak so I am just leaving them alone for now.

Trim

Post by Zenbio »

I have looked around for some trim but haven't found any. I have the rubber type that hold the plex windows in. (1979 25 Mac)If I get the windows wet or water in the trim, the seals will bleed black all over my boat. I thought about removing and trying to reseat with silicon but I think it will just crack the old black trim.

Zenbio, have you tried carefully cleaning the seals with alcohol, and then applying a skim-coat of black silicone? I've done that on a few vintage vehicles where the seals were NLA, and it turned out pretty good. Have a cup of water nearby as you do it, and dip your finger in the water before you smooth out the silicone... helps make a smoother finish.
