Battery performance.

My original (11 year old battery) appears as though it is bound for the recycler. It is not taking a charge well. I put the quick charger on it and it will raise and lower the engine but will only engage the bendix. It will not start the engine.

I put a trickle charger on it and will test again in the am but I think its gave up the goat. That is an acceptable service life to me!!

Battery

Agreed, Scott.

Hold a service for your dead battery and head to Wal Mart (or where ever). I was just browsing in the battery section at Wal Mart a couple of weeks ago and I was amazed at how powerful, technologically advanced, and cheap those store batteries were. It's been awhile since I had to buy one (it WAS my practice to get a new car if the battery - - - or anything else - - - went bad). No mas.

its about what I got on the battery in our powerboat. Taking moderate care of a marine battery should get a decade I would assume

I've noticed by batteries aren't holding a charge as well as they used to either. I'm connected to shore power to my built in charger is always on, but I've also got a regular charger at home. Would it work any better?
