Greetings all - I've been visiting for awhile now but just returned with my new 08 M from Bill. I've a similar issue in tweaking my furler for ease of use.
I'm attached properly at the base with Bill's rig pack, but I want to be able to raise the 150 after stepping the mast. In anticipation of single handling, set up would be simpler. However, I need to take up the slack of the stock furler headstay. Bill has includced a long halyard block, shackle and extentsion piece - is replacing these with shorter block likely the smartest first step to reduce a heavily raked mast?

Frank C:
KKelly ... Welcome aboard & congrats on your new M-boat.
Your questions, posted within a related thread, might not get their due attention. Therefore, I'm splitting your post into your own thread. However, I'm also not understanding some of your descriptions, now listed in my following post ... maybe other M-boaters (or Bill's customers) will chime-in.
Repeating my above comment, I'm not sure what you're describing. For starters:
You refer to "raising" the Genoa -- you mean unfurling it, right?
And ease of single-handing, means you want to install the furler, not use a hank-on sail?
But I'd expect that Bill has already installed your furler ... No??
Not sure what's meant by a "longer" or "shorter" halyard block;
" ... slack of the stock furler headstay ... " doesn't sound like "Bill's rig pack;"
Adjusting the mast rake is not related to the halyards or halyard blocks
Rig tuning is necessary to adjust forestay tension, and I'd be surprised if a new Bill-boat needs any rig tuning yet.
Sounds as if you might also want to phone Bill and ask for some clarification on the items he included, and proper applications. Then post more questions here.
