Marina Help - Washington State

I'm looking for a marina in the Seattle to Bellington Washington area that I can dry store my 26X on the trailor with the mast up. Can any of you in that area make a suggestion? I have been trailoring "ROSE" from Montana to cruise the San Juan and Gulf Islands and have decided to simply leave her there!

One I've seen a number of X's in is Everett. Not the main marina, but at the huge 14 lane public launch. There is a large fenced yard at the east end of their huge parking lot. Each time we have launched there we have seen at least 3 X's on their trailers with their masts up and ready to go. It is a wide open area. No overhead obstructions and without a doubt the best launch in the state. Unfortunately I don't know who operates that dry storage area. You might call the Everett marina and they may be able to point you in the right direction. This would be my first choice. It's centrally located, 35 miles to the San Juans out through Deception Pass, easy to go north, south or west.

Another in the same Everett area is Dagmars Landing. You see this as you drive north on I-5 next to the lumber mill. It is the largest dry storage facility I've seen in the area, they have acres of space. They are on the snohomish river about a 1/2 hour up stream from the Everett Marina and launch. 425-745-2275. I've known a number of people who have kept large power boats there. I also hear it's proximity to I-5 and the lumber mills means your boat can get a bit dirty.

I would also check in Anacortes, perhaps call Cap Sante, the largest of the marinas there and see what they recommend. There may also be facilities in Bellingham, there is a large marina, but I can't say I've ever seen any storage yards.

Between Seattle and Everett the Port of Edmonds also has some dry storage. I don't know if it is the type we need to store with the mast up ready to launch.

Most of the Seattle operations tend to be for smaller powerboats. There are many rack and stack ones along the ship canal where they stack them 5 and 6 high. Don't think I'd like having my boat stored 50 ft in the air.

You might also check across the sound in Bremerton, Brownsville, and Poulsbo.

If you don't mind setting up at the ramp I'm sure you could find many places to just store the boat with the mast down on the trailer.

I also agree that Everett would be a good idea. If for some reason you want to be closer to Seattle, Shilshole has trailer storage right next to the public boat launch. On multiple day trips you can park at Shilshole and avoid the multi-day charge for the boat ramp.

I store my M in Everett (performance Marine) the launch facitlity is probably one of the best in the state. I also leave my mast up and boat on the trailor. The cost $75.00/month. If you have a Suzuki or mercury motor, Performance marine is a Suzuki /mercury authroized repair facility. You won't have to take your mast down even for service!!

When/if you call Performance marine, you may get a guy that will say there is no room or a waiting list (i dont think he wants to deal with it). so talk to the owner. There has been a couple people including myself that were told to check back in a year. When I talked with the owner, he gave me 4 different spots to choose from. Good Luck!

My thanks to all of you for your advise. I think Everett is the place. I have a few mods that won't get done until October so may wait until next March to move it there.
