True Knots to macgregor knots

Post by r.fairman »

I am trying to write a formula to convert true knots to macgregor knots. I know I need to include such factors as hull colour, how close the wife is standing to you, how many boat bucks you managed to conceal in the household acounts, All I know is that magregor knots are about 2 times true knots. Once I have done the maths I will produce for less than 600 US a log where you can dial in any speed you want. It will be calibrated to indicate when the rudders will fail and when the wife will bail out

It seems like if it's a moonlit night with a light breeze the Mac is pretty fast.

an easy way to get more macgregor knots is to leave the wife on the dock.
Then it seems the boat goes REAL FAST as it leaves her.

Put her on the boat and it seems like it takes for ever to get anyplace.

The only way to do this is to install A MacGPS unit on the boat. This would give you important information such as TBS (true boast speed) as well as MPD (Miles per Dollar) or in metric, KPE (Kilometers per Euro). Other features include SAG (speed agound) alarms, LOL mode and most important the IMHO page. Cost for this unit would be $.02, Canadian. :D Other options are the DOP (depth of pocket) sounder and the can't point here compass. Did I mention, some units have the PMS warning light?

Yes, but you also need to add smiles-per-gallon and smug-knots.
