High Speed Towing

Post by Luke »

Mark, do you use a load balancing hitch?
Any problems with the rear tires spinning when you're trying to pull the boat out of the water?

How fast do you tow the boat?

Thanks for posting Mark. BTW, this is for real. XX is really hitched to my brother's Callaway. (Haven't had time to put a hitch on my 'vette yet.) 140 hp on the stern, about 400 hp on the front and it sails. LIFE IS GOOD.

In talking with others, we have been trying to decide which would be better for substained speeds above 100 mph--a second axle or run flat tires on the trailer too.

An added bonus: you don't have to get out of the car to check the condition of the tires. Great visibility.

You gotta be kidding. trash the tranny on an expensive sports car? Plus I thought the corvette rear end suspension is very delicate. Any warrantee on the vette is toast I would think once you put a hitch on it.
This is just a joke right?

Rick, That's a great photo too!

If you rt-click any image, you can copy the "image address." Edit your first post to remove the duplicate [/img] that is trailing your link, and change it to show the link address of the "image" not the webpage that contains that image.

You can "quote" this message to see/copy the link info, and I'll delete this post. (after all, it's YOUR ride - 'n what RIDEs they ARE!)

Everyone knows the "classics" are faster! Or were you talking about the tow vehicles? That's right, your tow vehicle is a classic too.

Mark, just how fast does that gallon of acetone go?

Won't do much for this thread's "posterity"... :D

Nice try guys but so far I don't see any trailor hitches in either photo. Only a car parked in front of a trailor. :D Lots of fun though.
