Increased performance with transom wedges ??????
I searched the archives about the transom wedges install. Several folks had posted, but performance gains were not available.
Has anyone come to any firm and final conclusions about any gain/loss/neutral effects?
For now, my best trim for max speed is full down and that nagging question remains, could more down be better yet?
I sure would like to trim to far down, and then trim back up to find the best.
The installation job seems simple enough.
Thanks for your replies.

Hardcrab I was one of those inquiring about them, and deciding after getting several positive responses, including one video segment, to install them. I have them installed but will not launch the boat for a couple of months yet as I'm in the middle of doing many other mods at home in my driveway and cold weather is not my favorite time to do WOT tests anyway. I'll see if I can find whether I saved or bookmarked that video, but in any case when I do test I'll sure share the results with everyone.

Hello,
My best performance is obtained with the motor running almost perpendicular to water flow. Lowering the motor drops the bow some but fuel consumption increases and speed slows slightly. I raise the motor until I hear it just begin to cavitate in the troughs then I lower it 2 pulses of the trim button. Having the movable ballast go forward improves everything and requires re-trimming the motor.

Yes I have the wedges and am very glad I do. Why? Because with them, I am able to see where I am going while sitting in the seat behind the wheel. Nice eh? Also, I can tell you this, at WOT, fully trimmed in, the boat is nicely on plane, and zipping along, trim up, even a bit, spray pattern changes markedly, speed drops, start to lose horizon over the bow..... all bad things.
Do as you wish with your own boat.
Cheers

The transom of an M does not have enough angle for the outboard to trim in enough. Making it hard to plane out and keep the bow down enough for you to be above to see over while sitting down.

If you need more information, just google "transom wedges".

or....
HERE
These transom wedges fit all standard 4-bolt pattern engines. Bolt-on engines with factory installed tilt and trim. Cast aluminum construction allows for full, positive contact between engine bracket and transom. Adds 5 degrees of tuck to transom angle.
