Heavier keels have been known to fall-off Or even break-off :? :| :wink:

One experience on a Cat 36 heavy cruiser (20,000#??) on San Fran Bay when it blew up to 35 - caught us with full cloth up, but the boat was heavy enough that the speed stayed down and the boat was manageable...I think the ride in a high windage boat would have been much much worse...
