How to steal a 26M

I wonder if this is going to be too controversial then?

6,000 kilometres and haven't had a single 'moment'. Just love that active suspension:

Lease I cannot make it out in the picture . So what kind of car/wagon is that? Engine size? wheel base? that's 3600 miles give or take so how far do you usually tow at one time? Highway turnpike or 2ndary roads?

Mostly on the freeway, though I do some secondary roads.

Most trips are to the lakes which are about 300 kilometres each way. There have been two trips of 900 & 1,000 kilometres each way.

The car is a Citroen C5 wagon (you don't get Citroen there). It is a - wait for it - 2 litre petrol four. It is not what you would set out to use for this particular application, but it does the job quite admirably, and I bought the car before the boat. It has a rated towing capacity of 1.9 tonnes. From a stability/safety point of view it's brilliant. ESP, ABS, EBD, traction control etc, and of course the hydro-pneumatic suspension which keeps the car level in all situations. It is very useful for compensating in corners, etc.

All of that said, I can't contemplate climbing escarpments, or any slopes in excess of about 10-12 degrees. I also have to pick my ramps, though I haven't had a problem yet. For the nay sayers, no, it will not provide local amusement by sliding down a steep ramp into the water. I've done some controlled tests, and it would have to be a very slippery, very steep ramp indeed.

Would I go again? No. There is no substitute for weight and power authority for flexibility in all towing situations. My previous vehicle that I towed my trailertri with was a mid-sized SUV, which I truly despised in city traffic. I'll be getting a Hyundai Santa Fe CRDi mid next year to replace this car, and I will miss the comfort hugely.

For the record I definitely DO NOT agree with people who insist that nothing short of a 3 tonne crew cab is necessary to tow a Mac. That sort of thinking is like the BOAC Captian that was once asked how many engines an airliner need to be safe. The alledged answer was "Well, if the engineer reported "Captain, I have had to shut down number 27", then my response would be Number 27 Mr. Engineer? Very good, which side?"

Great to see a man with some class I have been driving French cars for years and just can't get enough of them. I drive Peugeots and found them to be the best. My last car I used for towing was a 406 (until a truck decided to drive over the top of me last year). We got a Mazda Tribute as the tow car and I was looking at a Citron Xantia wagon to replace my pug. My wife called it a “fuddy duddy” car and suggested I may have to find alternative sleeping arrangements if I got said “fuddy duddy” car. So this was the car she said I was allowed to get.



I am putting a tow bar on it soon (it’s too small for the Mac but fine for my 14ft cat and camper trailer)... But then again

PS I get to tow my boat home today (finally!!) so guess who has a busy weekend setting her up?

I did this for 400 miles when I first brought my baby home - in high winds. Thank God for the PO upgrading to a dual axle galvanized trailer.

Lease.....I love Citreon.
At 23yrs of age I boougt a brand spanking new 1971 ID21 Safarri Palas.
Without a doubt, it is probably the best car I have ever owned.
Had the 4cyl 2L motor with spark pluds on the top.
Fantastic comfort, handling, and loved the driving lights that moved with the steering wheel.

and remember how big those commerical tow rigs are when they have to tow a KW or Peterbilt. I have towed my mac with a B2000 mazda....

fine around the yard.....andrenaline charged at anything over 45 mph.

I emailed to the "owner" a question about the boat. I knew it was a scam because they listed the boat as being located in Jewett Ohio, a small town not too far from my home. There is no boat dealer in Jewett. Below is the emailed response I got from the scammer.
