Delevi & Beene team up to sail in SFO

Post by beene »

Had a great vacation sailing a 26M in San Francisco.

In this video you have moderate winds, 4 aboard, beating upwind, healed hard over, AUTO is at the helm, both skips are hiking out, a high speed SFO Bay ferry is about to run us over, and the owner of the boat declares "I have the right of way dude!" as his butt is hangin out for "Chummie". :o

Image

This next one we get the rudder out of the water again, but not all the way. Damm those bigger rudders of his! :|

What a great place to sail and visit.

Hi Randy
So did you trailer down to SF?
No, I flew down and met up with a nice guy from this board.

Can't imagine towing that far. I think my wheels would burn right off! :|

Glad you liked the pics and vids.

In order to protect the innocent, the name of the "other guy" has been kept secret. The "other guy" has Quantum sails and weighted keel on his :macm: along with the over-sized IDA rudders, all which came out on the video. The "other guy" will remain anonymous, however. I…. rrrrr... I mean "that other guy" had a great time sailing with Beene & his admiral.

Cheers,
L.

Thanks for that Leon.

I was starting to sweat when BB2000 asked about seeing your boat. :|

Thanks to this awesome Mac Sailor Forum, I have met and no doubt will continue to meet, some of the finest people the world has to offer.

It goes a long way to showing just what kind of person buys a Mac and why they love it so much.

For most of us, if it were not for the Mac, the cost of getting into such a fine sport would not have been possible.

It is my guess that the price point of this boat is the prime reason for its obvious success. However, once you get past that, if the boat was a POC, the price alone would hardly have lead to the success of the company over a span of these many years.

I love my Mac, flaws and all. The positives far outweigh the negatives.

Thanks again Leon for your outstanding generosity and truly fine hospitality.

Can't wait to return the favour.

I am so glad I have taken all these pics and vids all summer.

Now that the boat is stored, I find myself looking at the pics everyday to help remember how much fun we all had.

It's going to be a long winter.
