Hi TT

The articulating design seems to go right of the forestay? Wish I could see it better? I remember it being discussed before but that didn't include a working model. Nice find! This might be something I'd try, and it is aluminum, so the big bucks could be spared.

It looks like carbon fiber in some of the pictures and alum in others so I guess it really isn't important so long as the strength is there. But what I can not figure out is the red string or sail twine tied around the base of the furler in the first couple of pictures?

i hope there is a aluminium version for the mac. Carbon Fibre seems a little overkill for our type of sailboat.

Was retractable folded up vertical until I added the cat walk , seat , bowsprit rail extension
Total cost about $400.00 Can :)

Really makes the boat very distinctive & adds a bit of class !
my bowsprit extends 4ft beyond the bow and by giving it a 5" raise I was able to move my genny out to the 3ft mark without lengthening the genny forestay , the genny catches more wind thus is a little faster & picks up speed sooner, with just just 2 degrees mast rake eliminates round up !
I used alum spar 2 1/4" OD 1/8" thick wall

Cheers John
