With all the hubbub elsewhere, was I the only one who failed to notice that Jack Sparrow has posted his 100th mod. If I read the url right he has posted 10% of all the mods submitted. As a service to potential :macm: buyers and those new the boat, someone should compile his modifications into a feature article - sort of along the lines of "and you can do it too" - because I have found his mods to be within the realm of practicality.

Most mods are the Admirals requirements so the contract is 1kg of weight added to the boat, 1kg weight loss for the Admiral :D

I am in awe of Jack Sparrow. If he would accept $200 a week with room and board, I would fly him into my town to fix my Mac up.

I appreciate that Jack goes to the trouble of sharing his work and ideas with us.
I think Jacks a top notch guy, and the same can be said for his work.

How is the floor holding up? We are pleased with it. No maintenance required, didn't get scratched. In fact, we added the same flooring to underneath the dinette table while on winter lay up. We found the new floor to look cleaner in that the sand and dust would lay in the grooves of the bare floor and much easier to wipe up when wet. One thing, it is a little more slippery.

As to sourcing materials, am more than happy to pass on where I buy things but I am in Melbourne, Australia so not so easy to access for most of you. Anyway, here's the link to Whitworths, which may help with finding out the manufacturer's name and sourcing from where you are.

http://www.whitworths.com.au/main_home.asp

Fell free to email me if you'd like specific information. I might even be able to help you out from this end by purchasing from here and posting over. Whitworths puts out a great catalogue which I referred to constantly so you might be able to get your hands on one of those online. What I didn't buy from Whitworths, I bought from J V Marine.

As to weight, yes, we are veeeerrrrrry heavy. Six starts and 5 DNF results in our class in races so we are pretty uncompetitive but still find that being involved in races is great fun and we don't care if we don't finish. We have had 7.5 knots out of her without the spinnaker on a couple of occasions but haven't been able to replicate this in races, so far.

When will it be finished ?. I don't think it will ever be finished as it is my hobby.

.......and then he stopped breathing.

I'm also impressed with the speed at which these are installed. Do you get anything done at work?

Anyhow, a big cheers Jack and I promise to look out for you down Blairgowrie when I get my M. I plan on spending a lot of time down that way.
