I have just sold my Mac.Unfortunately at a knock down price due to the problem. The bloke who bought the boat is a glass specialist and he will follow up on the cause and repairs on this site. Take care.

Cracks at Port side chain plate.
:| After a weekends great sailing,I was dumbstruck to find a crack running downwards about 2 inches long below the port side chain plate.(through the glass) On further inspection, found the crack is just visible on the inside of the boat as well. Cut back the carpet to check. I have not hit anthing a...

The Dehler does not have the interior space of the Mac as there is no full standing headroom and no rear berths as mentioned by Terry. I bought her as she sails well and outpoints most boats I have sailed on.(the previous owner had her out in a F8 with no problems).I can sail her single handed as al...

New 2nd hand boat
I have have just got delivery of my Dehler 25(1986) but will still be keeping my M . The Dehler has a combination of waterballast( 400kg )and a cast iron keel(400kg) which offers more stiffness than my M.It is similar to the Mac in numerous ways:Trailable, mast raising kit(although the mast weighs ab...

I have taken the Mac 32NM off shore in the Med only.Checked weather forecasts first. Had F4 at max.The boat sailed well. Made sure I had the right safety gear such as EPIRB etc.Didn,t need it though. It does not matter how far off shore you go in the Mac,just dont let its abilities run away w...

I got water in my M after a days sail. I normally find it on the starboard side running from below the double bunks to the head stiffener. I have installed a water alarm the tracks the origin of the water in sequence to where it runs. It is just about placing the first sensor in the correct place to...

Daggerboard gash
While out sailing this weekend,I swam under the boat to check for fouling and noticed the dagger board has a 1" gash on the rear side where it makes contact with the hull. I have not knocked the board in the down position. Is this a common occurance with the M and will I need to strengthen the r...
