Yamah enduro 40 HP outboard alternator with no regulator

I have a 1996 mac 26x which I fitted a Yamaha 40 HP Enduro outboard last year. These are rough commercial engines only available in Asia, Africa and parts of Australia. It was cheap (about $2200 US), has 2 cylinders, only one carb, pre-mix @ 50:1, manual lift and no regulator. I motored from Malaysi...

I am from England but I have my boat and live out in Malaysia. Most of the sail boats here are liveaboards as there is very little wind daytime and if you want to go any distance by sail it has to be done at night. Hence my Mac with its 50 HP Johnson is spot on for these waters. I was working on my ...

I have a Garmin GPS 76. Excellent piece of kit, I use it on my Mac 26x out in Malaysia and it comes pre-programmed with the major navigation bouys even in some of the more obscure ports in Asia. I especially like the anchor drag alarm, just tell it the radious, set it and sleep in peace. It appears ...

Excellent pics on the calendar, but take a look at the June photo.

The boat behind the 26X, still has his fenders down........bad form or am I old fashioned?

I heard a couple of those chemical tablets used for treating swimming pool water dropped in the tank kills any kind of life and is recommended when keeping the tanks full on a Mac or any other water ballast boat.

Thanks for the reply Moe I have been in touch with a Johnson dealer in Hong Kong and they recommend an aluminium prop 12.25 x 15, part No. 778774 but I don't think they are familier with Mac 26x's. I am not after the perfect match, just something that doesn't over rev the engine at WOT and gives rea...

Ok maybe nobody is running a 1996 2 stroke Johnson, but I guess the propellor sizes for all 50 HP 2 stokes should be similar.

Anybody got any suggestion as to what size prop I should be buying?

Propellor size: 1996 mac 26x with a Johnson 50 HP 2 stroke

I am out in Malaysia and want a new prop for my Mac 26x. I have a 1996 Johnson 50HP 2 cylinder 2 stoke but the local outboard shop haven't a clue what size I need........and neither do I. I guess I could just replace the damaged prop on my boat but there is no guarantee that is the correct size. I d...
