Detachable Spreaders ??

This has probably been discussed before - but, anyway - has anybody made their spreaders detachable ?? I was thinking of using clevis pins to hold them in place when being used - would they be "strong" enough? It seems to me that if they were detachable the storage and transportation of th...

Hate to date myself - BUT, when I was younger and car engines were "simpler" - we used to do our own 'tune-ups' - change plugs, air filter, and do timing with a 'light', set the 'carb' by ear and occassionally used carb cleaner! When I did 'that'; for several minutes after starting (someti...

Talking to the mechanic that I hopefully will be using for my repair work - there's a 2 - 3 week backlog around here!! - he told me another No-No about using "earmuffs" for flushing - DON'T rev up the engine!! That (also?) will burn up impellers... just leave at idle and hope the water pre...

Bungee cord stock ???? (for the rudder hold-down lines) Where do you get some of that?? Or do you just cut the hooks (ends) off the long ones?? More importantly, when you pull your rudders up, do you just add some "fun" to the exercise ?? I find it a bit of a pain just using regualar rope ...

For the info. of anyone else around here (B.C. & PNW) our friendly local Mac dealer (& wheeler) Gerry Berg can usually get the parts - he's a great resource for us.....

That's encouraging - and good to know... I used a nail that I cut to the 'right' length and it certainly seems to work. Curious - how did you identify the model # of the jack, or is there only one?? Also, how did you contact them - phone, fax or e-mail?? Now we'll see if they respond to Canadian enq...

Well I took my BF50 to the service shop today - unfortunately they won't be able to work on it for a few days.... But talking to the mgr. about rabbit ears - he said that they are a real source of "problems". For instance, if your garden hose does not have enough pressure the cooling syste...

My mistake in the reply before - the meter I was reading was not 6000 hours- I was going by my unreliable memory - more like 4000 - but, after talking to the PO the meter is not Honda "standard" feature - but one he added - which measures time that the ignition switch is 'on' - and in fact...

For what it's worth, when I got concerned about water not coming out the "pee" hole (turned out to just be plugged up - probably salt or ???), a couple of mechanics told me not to be 'alarmed' about that. They said the 'pee' hole stream is JUST an indicator - and that 90-95% of the water a...
