Re: looking to buy but wanting to try
Hi
I'm in Victoria and my M26X is in Sidney. Will be out a few times over the next couple of weeks and you could reach me on the personal message function of this board if you want to come along. Click my name on the right and then click on "send a private message".

Re: Beaten by a Mac!
Could have been me. I can't remember which day I was out there but I picked up a pretty good line from the southwest end of Saltspring over to Portland and then down to Sidney Spit. Then had some autopilot problems :? There were two other Macs out the same day plus someone who had recently sold a Ma...

Re: 26X Model
Not sure how big the bottles are in those brown paper bags !!
Looking forward to the renaming ceremony but I'm not sure if Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh can get here to break the champagne bottle on the hull. I'm thinking maybe Barbie and Ken can do it instead.

Re: 26X Model
Will look good in my hallway when it is delivered.
Seller also has a lightly used 2000 M26X for sale. PM me off-board for seller's details if seriously interested (I'm not selling or recommending or receiving any $$ - just willing to refer).

Gerry Berg in Vancouver BC recommended and supplied 12.25 by 10. Right rotation.
I have never been able to get above 12 knots GPS but my boat is fairly well loaded.

Re: Dowsar Dodger for the 26X
Duane is correct about the excellent standing height in the Dowsar (which is very desirable). But I don't understand the comments about weather protection. I have the wide dodger connected to the full enclosure, which provides the same protection as the Dowsar and extends past the boom to the rear o...

Re: Dowsar Dodger for the 26X
I'm in BC and got my full cockpit enclosure (the wide version) from BWY = Blue Water Yachts in Seattle. Really happy with it and it was a fraction of the cost of the Dowsar. Installed it myself a couple of years ago and no problems. email accessories@bwyachts.com 1. 2 0 6 . 2 8 2 . 4 2 6 1. Geoff

Re: Are These Boats Good Enough To Last?
Owned and moored in saltwater since 1998. Bottom-painted every two years and half-lifted for powerwashing at the beginning and end of Summer. No sign of deterioration. Topsides power washed and polished twice per year. Ready to power or sail in an instant - just do the safety check, start up the mot...

Our 26X has been in saltwater since 1999 except for one winter. I haul it every year for cleaning, bottom paint and engine maintenance. There's always a build up of growth in the centreboard trunk, the remainder power washes easily. I change the centreboard line every other year. However I do use th...
