Another place to look is Busters marine. I purchased the Mercury RU200 (5 year warranty) for $650 bucks delivered (call them about the freight). It is small 6'7" but it is great for 1 or 2 people and will hold a 54 pound engine. The cones pointing down really help to get up on a plane. The over...

I thought about a deck pumpout and adding a T for a macerator to a below the water line discharge for my Sanipotti. This system would be nice for our frequent trips into British Columbia. I had a quote done to see what the cost for materials and labor would be. The quote came back at roughly $750.00.

Tom, I am having a similar problem. My panel for the lights doesn't seem to be working. My motor, shore power and 12 volt outlets work fine. I called BWY and they stated that there is a 15 amp fuse for that panel at the battery. I will be checking it this weekend. I'll let you know if that worked. :m...

Ok, Bottom paint is done. I have to change my engine performance on this thread. My Mac is now cruising at 15.4 knots on average with a top speed (right conditions) of 19. I lost between 1.5 and 2 knots of speed with the barrier and bottom paint.

Moved the boat today. '04M with 70 HP Suzuki. Two adults, one dog, medium gear, no ballast, topped out at 20.3 mph at 5150 rpm. KRV What is your max rpm for 20mph and cruise at 17mph? Are you talking knots or MPH? I cruise at 17-18 knots (20 MPH) just under full throttle and max out at 20 (24 MPH) ...

Re: Which Motor?

How much does your Suzuki weigh and what are some typical boat speeds? Darrell the motor (don't quote me) weighs 320+ pounds. 18-20 knots under power, fully loaded with 2 adults and 2 growing kids. I have reached 7.5 knots under sail. (I am sure some have done better as I am still new to sailing).

Re: Which Motor?

Here is the scoop. Macgregor has allowed some dealers to go beyond 50 hp (Blue Water Yachts etc...) BWY offers a 70 hp Suzuki and it WILL NOT void the warranty. It may very well be that your dealer does not have authorization to go beyond 50 because he is out of the country. The Macgregor will hold ...

What does a new Mac trailer go for?

I have a 2004 Mac that I am going to moor in the Puget Sound area. I don't have a place to park the trailer alone so I would be interested in selling it. Is there much of a market for the trailers? would it fit any model Mac? How much does a new one go for? Just want to get some advice before I post...

Maybe the $1500 estimate for bottom paint isn't too high afterall. Check out the response I got from a local marina: >>>Thanks for the request. The rate on your boat would be $2483.00. This price includes primer, paint, tape, rollers, brushes and labor. I'm not sure why they think it's worth $2483....
