:macm: Thanks to everyone for the tips. My wife and I spent a short time in the Friday Harbor area last year and it was wonderful. Being from Idaho we are overly cautious. We are used to high mounitain lakes. When the water has salt in it, runs like a river and it goes up and down it's a learning ex...

Anacortes launch sights
:macm: My wife and I are trying to sneek one more good trip out of our boat with a 10 day trip to the San Juans after Labor Day. We are planning to use Blakley island as home base and use the area around Anacortes as a lanch point. I would appriciate any advice regarding lanch ramps and extended vie...

:macm: I have to agree with Tom. Given the choice, we like the 04. The Wallas stove is a very important part of our trips. I guess we are just at that age where we want a soft bed and a warm cabin. We are always trying to push the season and when we woke up to 3 inches of snow on the boat this April...

:macm: As an owner of a 2004 M I can say that the table arrangement left a lot to be desired. When it is up it blocked any easy access to the bow that is until we cut 6 inches off the width on the port side. Now it lines up with the dagger board locker. It is a big improvement. All the talk about th...

:macm: I used to do the bump on a level surface and fairly aggressivly and had no problems. I purchased Liquid Rolers but I just don't like the idea of the boat possibly slipping off so I didn't use it. My trailer has brakes and that might make a difference? The only trouble I have ever had is I let...

:macm: Mark I use a Bulwega and anchored in a cove Ive never seen anyone in our area use. The anchor set just fine. In the morning I found our why no one uses this area. I was not able to bring the anchor on board for almost 30 minutes. It not only set in the weeds it brought most of them up with it...

:macm: Chip I would appreciate your parts list. I like the idea of using the existing axel with the brakes and the second to simply carry some weight and add a safety margin. Every trip we make is at least 100 miles one way and some are 800 round trip. We get a lot more trailer than sailor. Thanks f...

Help on a Tandem Trailer
I am looking into adding a second axel to a Mac M. The axel on the trailer is manufactured by UFP but I am having a difficult time locating a source for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:macm: Thanks for the source for the LED. I have to agree with Chip when it comes to spending the extra on something I will not use very often. I just received a Hella Marine 10 watt ($15.99 at West Marine #598458) and FYI it comes with certificates of Test Confirmations for 7 different countries in...

LED anchor light
:macm: Chris Thanks for the tip on the wire size. I agree with you completely regarding the integrity if the mast. It appears the foams primary purpose is to create watertight compartments. After the wire is run, I will foam the first inch or two of the channel and as well as the area the channel ex...

Anchor Light
:macm: Chip Thanks for the help. I love you guys that have electrons flowing in your veins. You make it sound so easy and you answered more questions than I even knew I had. One remains, what size wire do you recommend. Im going with the 10 watt unit to reduce the juice but it seems like a pretty fa...

Anchor Lights and Drilling a Mast Channel
I have a question regarding anchor lights. What is the power draw for the various units? How much effect on a battery does a 25 watt bulb have verses a 10 watt? Is having the light on all night a significant power draw for either? Do you have a preference? As a recent M owner I too was disappointed ...
