Same thing happened to me. Mine lasted about half a season before it wouldn't open, and yes that override screw strips very quickly. This is on a boat in fresh water that sits on the trailer most of the time. In theory it seemed like a great mod, but in practice a different story.

I have been "out of the loop" and havn't checked the board in a while. K9Kampers is correct, the Weirs channel bridge can only be navigated with the mast down. Last Fall I decided to take a trip through the channel, since my mast was already down and the boat set to trailer home. Due to th...

BWY Bimini

I recently installed the bimini I purchased through Blue Water Yachts. I found I had to install it about an inch and a half forward of what the instructions said, in order for it to clear the bottom of the backstay when the bimini is in the folded position. I have noticed other X's with a bimini fro...

I Use DriDeck in the cockpit and I have been happy with it. It slips around a little, but If you cut it for a tight fit, it's not bad. If you buy it directly from the manufacturer, it's a lot cheaper than WM. I find it's usefull in the bildge area too.

My problem turned out to be a loose ground wire from the battery. Since you have power elseware on the boat, I guess your situation is different.

Jib Halyard Suggestions

Does anyone know the length and diameter of the 26X jib halyard and sugestions on a inexpensive replacement? I don't want anything too high tech, because I only use it for mast raising and when I use the spinniker a few times a year.

I replaced my valve this summer because I noticed that the ballast would fill, even when the valve was fully closed. It seems as though the new valve leaks as well. There has been some past discussion on this board about the same thing, it seems to be a common problem.

When the power tilt didn't work, both switches were inoperable, (switch on throtle lever the one on the moter itself), so I don't think the problem was in the switch.

Thanks for the replies. I tried it the next day and everything worked fine, like nothing was ever wrong.... :? very weird. I'm still going to see if I can find out what happened. Luckily it was parked in the driveway at the time. Next time I might not be so lucky. I know there is a manual overide, b...

Power Trim Problems

Brought my boat home today for the Winter. Changed the water impeller. Changed oil etc. Tried to tilt motor (99 Honda 50HP) back up and nothing, trim switch on throttle lever and motor do not operate. I thought it might be a dead battery, but after charging the battery, motor lifted about an inch an...

Installed mine last winter. It's probally my favorite mod. It comes in handy since I single hand a lot. It's fairly easy to install and as Dwain said it looks as though it's made for the Mac pedestal. I would highly recommend it.

It seems like what your paying for a slip is pretty reasonable. Where I am on lake Winnipesaukee in NH. I would be paying $3,500 to $4,000 a year for a slip if I could find one available, and that's for a 6 month season at best. I currently leave it on the trailer, mast up, at a launch ramp for $850...

Chartplotter and Bimini

I have a Garmin chartplotter with a internal antenna. This winter I plan on upgrading to a color chartplotter and I want to still have an internal antenna. I hook it up every time I go out, and don't want the added trouble of hooking up an external antenna connection every time. I also plan on insta...
