I have had my Mac since 04 and have covered it over with a tarp for the winter and I have a brace in place on top of the cabin to support the center of the mast in case of heavy snow fall. I will also shovel out the valley, s of ice and snow as needed. Everything else survives our winter just fine. ...

things you cant do with an M26 50HP
Here is the start of a list of things that I cant do with my 26M blue 50. 1. In 5 to 6 foot lake waves with white caps and a 20 to 25mph wind, i cant tack unless my boat speed is above 5 kt. :( , as i get into the luff zone the speed rubs off and the waves overpower the boat and i am back on a broad...

Three more weeks three more weeks :P :P :D . I put the Rae Lee Joy to water in May and try to take her out in October. The slips are on my way home from work, so in five minutes i am heading up the river to the lake looking for wind. Last summer was my first summer so I tended to sail from three to ...

I sail on 90 mile long east to west lake, I am on the east end and our winds are out of the west about 90% of the time, After my first season I tend to sail on the rub rails on a regular basis when solo, The admiral will only take it for about a minute, but we are working on it. I now dump the sheets...

Over all the :macm: is very skitish at low speeds, lots of attention and a light touch, I get a lot of practice handling as i dock up a 50 foot wide river with a 4 Kt current, with rudders and centerboard up and i have an eight foot wide slip to turn the RAE-LEE-JOY into, the first ten times were ha...

In the ZONE
I would like to better understand the dinamics involved, when I get into the zone. I have experienced this on about four occasions. I am heading closed hauled at about 20 to 25 degrees to the wind, with my jib and mainsail up, between 5to 7 kts in a steady wind. And I take my hands of the wheel and ...

Hi I just started sailing a year ago, and I am 52, so never to late to start. I would recommend lots of reading, and private sailing lessons or join a club in your area if there is one. NO FEAR just do it. I started out by reading books, and I took two days of courses with a professional, then I wen...
