Next time, if possible do your cleaning as soon as you pull the boat.... it is MUCH easier to come off while it is still wet. Allowing it to dry really makes it difficult, even if you wet it again afterwards it is too late.

I have an inflatable vest that is comfortable to wear so I really dont have any excuse but I really only wear it at 3 times: heavy weather, single handing and if I have to go up on deck for an extended time or to do something awkward. I do religiously take the vests out of the bilge and keep them ha...

Life vests, VHF radio and anchor would be my first priorities.

I have the fast idle lever Ray mentioned, that is definitely not a choke (although it can aid in starting). If it was a choke it would make the engine run roughly when deployed on a warm engine instead of increasing the RPMs. It is simply a method of revving the engine without putting it into gear. ...

Honda indicates the model year as part of the model number. The digit that comes after "BF50A" indicates the year... 6=2006 etc.

I have an 06 Honda and if I have a manual choke, I didnt even know it was there... will have to check next time I am on the boat. I do not have a choke on the pedestal either ( I do have the fast idle lever ). If there is one I certainly have never used it. Provided I have fresh or stabilized fuel, ...

Dont know about inserts, but using a dab of silicone on the threads works well to lock them in place without being too agressive if you ever need to pull them. If the holes in the liner are damaged or worn you may need to use slightly oversize screws.

I have used gumout in outboards and it works... to a point. If sprayed in the carb throats it will help to clean the jets but they are so small on the Honda that they quickly get to a point where gumout wont help any more. As far as the idea of putting it in the tank, I have never tried that but I w...

The upper shrouds are where all rearward tension comes from, due to the swept back angle of the spreaders. I dont think you will ever see nearly as much rake as the X... the design of the M just doesnt make it practical.

My Honda has never run properly with ANY ethanol added fuels until I started to use Stabil... the fact is that the shelf life of Ethanol treated gasoline in hot weather (i.e. tanks in your cockpit) is measured in days and the Honda carb jets are especially sensitive to this. Just get in the habit of...

Question Why are you buying a Powersailor vs a more conventional sailboat? Is it just for outrunning a storm? Just curious. I tend to agree with Moe... to answer your question I would say, trailerability, flexible draft and cost. Yes, it is nice to be able to crank up the motor and fly when the win...

I use my M in the Chesapeake, based out of the Rhode River (a little south of Annapolis) and I find the boat perfect for the bay. It is certainly stout enough to take all the conditions I have put her in. I think I am in the minority here, but I keep my ballast tank full all the time regardless of w...

I also make marks on a line with a sharpie when eye splicing and this is a fairly common practice. Another line-splicer~!! I confess... I enjoy splicing. Accomplishing something salty that befuddles a lot of people restores the self esteem I lose from my lack of sailing skills :) Kelly

I have marked the daggerboard line on my M with a sharpie (so I can visually verify how far down the board is) without any ill effects. I also make marks on a line with a sharpie when eye splicing and this is a fairly common practice. What makes you think there might be a problem?

The Show Special on the is now £18,495 without an engine but with a new twin axle trailer, which is exceptional value by European standards.
hmmm... out of curiousity, do you know what trailer they were offering?
