Re: Sinkhole empties cannal!

Our last trip to Europe in June '24 started with a layover in London staying on a dutch narrow boat on the Thames. https://i.imgur.com/yhm5gnU.jpg It was moored on the 'Uber Boat' dock so we could just buy a day pass for their catamarans that run up and down the Thames all day. https://i.imgur.com/T...

Re: (Which) Dinghy for the Mac?

Hi Ixneigh! Just a thought… Up north on our local lake an enterprising guy took two matching single place plastic sit in kayaks, added plugs to the openings (to seal them up) and bolted a plywood platform across to join them together. He uses it for several functions such as paddling, rowing and to...

Re: Swim & Fisher platform

It's a tall radar arch on a 26X, I just found it on my monthly 'Macgregor 26X for sale' curiosity google search: https://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/109938

Re: Corsswinds and docking

My M26 has much more difficulty docking in wind than my old S2 7.2. I am seriously considering a bow mounted electric trolling motor to act as a bow thruster to keep the bow pinned to my dock when I dock single -handed, as my Marina doesn't have dock staff. The added advantage is I could use it as ...

Re: AI Matey!

That video is pretty cool. Is it the Meta app that creates the video? I still feel like video AI stuff is black magic. Yeah, it's the Meta AI app, I hadn't played with AI image generation much before getting these glasses on Monday. I looked at my mom, brother and nephew yesterday on the back porch...

Re: AI Matey!

That was cool. I have no idea what you explained. :D At the moment, we are in Phoenix, and will be here until the 29rh. https://i.postimg.cc/SjRHzN6C/IMG-5779.jpg If you're in Phoenix, you should pop up to Lake Pleasant and check out the local waters! Think you can even arrange to go out on a Catal...

Re: (wicht) Dinghy for the Mac?

Look at the video section of their site, in the rowing video it shows a single person rowing the Q270 and it doesn’t look like there’s much room for a second person when sitting in the center to row, let alone a third. The Q300 and Q330 pics show multiple people sitting on the pontoons, but rowing t...

AI Matey!

Happy Thanksgiving all! I'm thankful I received my new Ray Ban progressives this week as my old pair had so much crazing on the lenses it's like I'm seeing in HD all of the sudden! New wrinkle with these for boat trips, they are the Meta AI frames that can do live POV video capture, way better for w...

Re: MacGregor 26M Blog – A Beginner’s Journey

Hi everybody, Today I went to the boat to do some little things and I observed the mast. Is it right that the only thing that holds it for falling backwards is the forestay? Is there something else that I can do to be more safe? Actually I am more concerned that the mast will fall backwards than fo...

Re: Happy Labor Day from Lake Powell!

I'm going to second the problem with the "gray marine" fuel line. That was my "new" hose to replace the original fuel line (which was still fine). I thought it was too old and I should replace it. THIS is what happened after 2 weeks of use. It literally crumbled and who knows wh...

Re: Happy Labor Day from Lake Powell!

Enjoyed this entire thread of info and the video Tuxon Pup! Question for everybody, I am going to be buying a booster pack (just in case) for my Honda 50 HP 4 stroke. Does anyone have preferences on what to purchase? I of course would want to be able to recharge it with 12 volt. Thanks for the help...

Re: MacGregor 26M Blog – A Beginner’s Journey

Looks like you can just remove the bolt from the spreader sockets, insert new aluminum tubing cut to the right length and drilled for the existing bolt hole and end cap, then re-tension the stay adjusters by sliding the pin for the new position. You'll want to recheck your headstay tension at that p...
