Re: House Battery Recommendation?

Thanks so much, Bill. This is of enormous help to me. The power budget idea is terrific and I now see is a must. As is the adage “you can’t take it with you.” So the Keurig is out except while on shore power. Using a French press is hardly a burden and I really do like the taste. My 12v-native fridg...

House Battery Recommendation?

I’ve wired my 26X (“Courageous”) with a pair of lead acid 12v batteries, a dual charger (that can charge different types of batteries) connected to my 30 amp shore power system—and it all works great. To power my fridge, Keurig machine and C-PAP device (also known in my household as “The Horrible Ma...

Re: Courageous’ New Galley is Complete!

Thank you, fellows. Yes, it's a major relief to have it complete and it reduces the inevitable clutter elsewhere. My wife is thrilled with it and we look forward to the benefits this summer as we continue our exploration of the San Juan Islands and Canadian waters.

Courageous’ New Galley is Complete!

Below is a public URL where my video outlines our progress fabricating the drawers, front, countertop and wash basin (I prefer the term ‘wash basin’ over ‘sink’ when describing my boat).

Courageous’ New Galley is Complete!

Finally—for awhile I thought it would never be finished!

Cheers.

Re: What holds the galley top on?

Maybe this is too late for this thread, but if anyone is curious, the attached photo reveals what’s underneath the grey tiles on the 26X. I used a chisel and hammer to chip out the tiles I needed to remove. Not too difficult but it was a chore that just needed to be done to replace the wash basin an...

Re: Anyone want to share their switch and circuit setups?

Thanks for the compliment, Jeff. But, no. I just used Apple’s “Pages” on my iMac (I’m too cheap to pay for Microsoft 365). I googled for images (or took screenshots) of the devices I wished to display and copied them to Pages. Then it was a snap to add colored lines, shadows, reflections, etc. in Pa...

Re: Anyone want to share their switch and circuit setups?

Attached is a schematic for my recently upgraded 26X electrical. I included a shore power arrangement to feed dual battery chargers, and recommend including a battery isolator that will prioritize charging the start battery. I don’t know if the D has a dedicated electrical compartment, but if so I h...

Re: Courageous Mod 4: Electrical Upgrades!

Thanks, Jeff. The second battery mount is under the starboard v-berth in the bow. I’ve convinced myself a prior owner had two batteries and at some point removed one or both. An unmounted battery box and strap were left aboard along with long 4 gauge black and red cables running back to the battery ...

Courageous Mod 4: Electrical Upgrades!

So we’ve completed our principal electrical updates for Courageous. We started with just one 12-volt battery, a 1-2/Both Switch (she came with no #2 battery), and the OEM switch panel. Following a conversation with Todd of BWY, we added: - A second, house battery - A house battery on/off switch - Li...

Thank you both! Paper clip worked like a charm. Dead fuse extracted.

Stupid Question 1:Fuse Replacement

Can anyone tell me how to replace the fuses in the OEM switch panel? I see the squares to the left of the switches labeled “fuse,” but my IQ is apparently too low to ascertain how to open the holder or replace the fuse. It’s not immediately obvious to me.

Will one of you kind Mac26X owners advise?
