Re: The tack is to far back to get the bottom of the sail tight
Jimmy is right. You are missing part of your gooseneck. If the PO left you with some spare parts you might fight the missing piece in there. If not, Bluewater Yachts has then for sale. You’re correct, I do have a bag of doodads from the PO, I probably saw it and didn’t know what I was looking at. T...

The tack is to far back to get the bottom of the sail tight
The PO had this set up this way but I can’t get the sail right with the tack so far back. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Rig trim basics
Hi everyone, I’m trying to adjust the stays and came across this post about bruce whitmore's article about the rig trim basics. The person had said you can find it in “featured articles” but I can’t find out how to select that. Any help would be much appreciated

Shane anthony said: Thanks for the info, I think I’m understanding the special mount. One way to do it would basically be to turn a small section of the rounded corner of the boat to a 90° corner with a couple SS steel plates welded at a tapered 90° then bolt one side to the stern and the other to ...

Re: Auxiliary outboard for 26M
Sorry, I wasn’t very clear about it. I was just going to use the plywood for making a template.

Re: Auxiliary outboard for 26M
I believe the most difficult part of mounting an auxiliary outboard on an :macm: is the limited flat surface on the stern, allowing clearance for the rudders.. Highlander made a special mount which curved around the starboard side. I don’t have any photos. Maybe he see’s this post and adds his unde...

Auxiliary outboard for 26M
IMG_2700.png Was thinking something like this might be an answer to auxiliary power if the main would go down. The smaller tube shape of the shaft might fit between the main and rudder without interfering with movement. I haven’t measured anything but was thinking mounting it would be simple compar...

Re: Forestay turnbuckle safetying
Sure, thanks for the replies. Sounds like if I use loctite, ring dings, cotter keys seizing wire and left and right threaded nuts I should be fine :D seriously though thanks. Here's a link to a PPT that I made trying to document the assembly of the CDI furler: https://1drv.ms/p/s!Ag0w1ybOLvphkuk4dK...

Re: Forestay turnbuckle safetying
Hi, would that be two nuts per thread for a total of 4? I’d have to order left handed nuts to do it. Thanks for the reply Ah...right. The turnbuckle has left handed nuts. I don't have a turnbuckle. So disregard my comments. I have the threaded piece from the headstay that attaches to the fuller. If...

Re: Forestay turnbuckle safetying
Okay I think I understand now Thank you! Does this look correct? If I recall, mine has nuts (x2) on the threads to prevent the stay from moving. I think those ring dings would do it. Hard to tell from the pic Hi, would that be two nuts per thread for a total of 4? I’d have to order left handed nuts...

Re: Forestay turnbuckle safetying
Hi everyone, it’s probably my lack of knowledge but can anyone tell me how to secure the forestry turnbuckle? I was under the impression that after securing it you’d want it to still be able to spin freely? I’m thinking for the ability to adjust it without having to remove anything you’ve put to se...
