Re: Practical Sailor just dropped a great vid on the Mac

That would make sense. Seems he was able to carve out a living of some kind from it......so, good on him. :D

Swim ladder advice for 26X

Hi, I've tried the search and can't find a good swim ladder option for 26X. We are in our 50's and swimming is an active part of our water experience. Just had a Suzuki 90 put on and the original ladder does not fit beside it. The picture from Blue Water Yachts shows a 3 rung ladder on the outside o...

RePowering 26X...advice on steering, re-enforcement

Hi All, I just purchased a Mac26X, moving up from a Mac19. (which is for sale soon....Winnipeg, Manitoba) Going to re-power with a Suzuki 90. Just read a civilized thread where people were helpful and not hung up on the 90hp being 40 over recommended, hopefully this stays the same. Just a fyi...I'm ...

Re: Reasonable Price for a 19'?

I've seen them as low as $3000 with no motor needing a lot of TLC, and up to about $8000 with motor, everything in near-perfect condition. I have an ebay tracker for Mac sailboats, and about 1 comes up per year. They do sell fast at whatever price. Great....figured there would be someone who keeps ...

Reasonable Price for a 19'?

What you guess is a current price of a 19'? I've used Craigslist, Search tempest, Facebook, Kijiji, the many 'sell-your-boat' websites, etc. A. Pretty hard to find B. A wide range of prices due to years back they were sold. I am handy, but not interested in a fixer upper. Well, always interested in ...

Re: Introduction from Winnipeg

That's a long rig. I don't know how folks pull all those toys. "Might" keep you under is the operative word. I don't know the length of the 19 with trailer and motor. It could be too long as well. I don't disagree with you. Ridiculous! To my defence I'm in my 50's and in my 20-early 30's ...

Re: Introduction from Winnipeg

Paul, When you say Yes, a 19'. I would love a bigger boat, but if this fits behind my 5th wheel its a clear and easy choice. Are you towing with a pick up truck with a 5th wheel in the flat bed? If so, why the concern about fitting behind it? If not, can you post a photo of your tow vehicle? Yes, I...

Re: Introduction from Winnipeg

I've gone down this rabbit hole fast and hard. Now reading about the 19 I'm considering selling my Hobie and replacing it with a 19'. The Hobie is a ton of fun in wild weather and is highly portable which makes it great for camping. Its a wet boat and that has its drawbacks when its on the shoulder...

Length of a 19' with trailer

Wondering if someone would know the total length of a 19' from the ball of the trailer to the back of the boat?

We are allowed 75' 5 1/2" . With my current 18' boat I am right on the cusp.

Re: Introduction from Winnipeg

Welcome, indeed... glad to have you join us! Yes, the Mac is a unique boat, capable of so much more than your usual sailboat. I've towed kids on skis and tubes, sailed, rushed in to avoid foul weather and lived on the boat for weeks at a time. It's not the perfect boat - it doesn't do all those thi...

Re: Introduction from Winnipeg

Welcome Paul. Ask questions without fear; we are friendly and openly opinionated about our Mac's. :) P.S. My younger son did a one or two week canoe trip in Manitoba with the Boy Scouts several years ago. On the water for an extended period with only the float plane flying over to check on t...
