Re: Thoughts on lithium batteries and salt water
"I am considering adding a lithium starter pack but the statistics on them are not good - about 1 out of every 10,000 packs catch fire." "As the original poster cited, this subject does deserve some thought." For my 2 cents worth any lithium battery source needs about 10 years mo...

Re: Thoughts on lithium batteries and salt water
LakeMac as to your motorcycle a fire on a bike is no fun, mine was an open gas cock on a triumph twin outlet tank on a 45 inch Harley using only one gas cock the fire was spectacular to everyone but me, NOT FUN at all.

Re: Thoughts on lithium batteries and salt water
Another problem not a word of on the MSM is how long will insurance cover a known problem before dropping coverage for all, and is the loss of your insurance worth it , to me not so much. Thanks for the well done video's and comments. Be aware some are on fresh water but not all, salt water seems to...

Thoughts on lithium batteries and salt water
Having recently watched a Tesla in florida on TV catch fire, be put out and recombust to flames again and again I will probable wait for some thing better. The lithium and salt water don't seem to give a safe result . Tesla recomends a safe distance from your residence in case of fire. This is my th...

Re: What is this piece in the brake system?
I know it's an old post but the item you removed locks the brake master from applying the brake when your backing up on level ground, when backing down most ramps the brake does not come into play but on level ground the push on the master applies the brake and makes backing a problem. I worked RV/s...

Re: Missing flotation styrofoam
I'd like to make a suggestion, the flat packs from the meat department come in different sizes, wash save and tape into bundles to add to areas where the flotation has broken down. Remember removing it could be bad for you or your loved ones. Better safe than the option, the water I sail in the wate...

OK to mount to the boat first I cross drilled the mount tube, axle nut and the axle then locked with a SS cotter pin to lock axle nut and tube as one then cut a slot in the tube to mount where the forestay cable mounted.

Re: Finally some success roller furling
Thanks feels good when it works and I'd rather build what I need instead of blowing large piles of money to be safer on the water it's bad enough l swim with the glide ratio of a very large rock. But life jacket and tube boat help keep me floating.

Re: Finally some success roller furling
Take a close look at the pictures I already put up, the bicycle hub was a front from a 20 inch bmx with larger spoke rings, better would be an itialian 10 speed extra large spoke rings not seen in years. The nylon plates I did with a sliding hole cutter ( looks like cross and sets diameter with a ru...
