Re: Navionics on Android tablet. Anyone have experience?

Hi. I used the ap on my galaxy phone while in the Whitsundys and was very happy. Worked well and depths and contours were identical with my depth sounder. Price, from memory was around $30. I now have an android tablet and would also like to know of any others experience before I buy it. Price has i...

Re: Whitsunday's trip

Thanks, I know Phil recommeds lauching at Mackay and having the trailers taken to Airlie, but we don't have that option. Thanks also for the idea of a visit to Bowen. I hadn't thougth of that one. Do I need a tender? Haven't needed one so far and with the Mac's ability to get to the beach I'm undeci...

Whitsunday's trip

My first mate has finally agreed to a trip to the Whitsundays - late June & July. It's only taken seven years, but that's another story. Over the years, several Macs would go as a group under the guidance of Phil King. Does anyone know if that is happening this year? There are no posts on the su...

Re: Australian Members

Hi, You have one member too many in the NSW Group. Me ! I'm in there twice and it's my fault. When I first joined I used my nickname as "Crackles". When I finally named my 26X as "Halcyon" I couln't figure how to change my details, ( still can't ) so I joined again when I moved h...

Re: Name Competition

Our 26x is HALCYON. Firstly, Halcyon days, are reported to be the Best Days of Your Life. When I'm on my X, it's true. Secondly, a tiny bird, called Halcyon, which makes its nest, ON the water, during the summer solstace, when the water is at its calmest. A good omen I hope. Me, well my name is Bria...

Re: Trip report & my vote for the humble single axle

I started to repair my 2000X trailer. Bought the super great anti-rust paint, then started to dismantle the carpet skids. That's as far as I got. So badly rusted, not much left to paint. The brakes almost the same and the factory hydraulic lines rusted as well. Dont' forget the mudguards. Spoke to a...

Re: Wheel spins freely 2002 26X Macgregor

Mine did exactly the same thing. Started being a little sticky, a little force 'fixed'it. Next time, a bit harder etc, etc then eventually, NO steering. I replaced the whole steering assembly and now no problems.

Re: Introducing WindSong

Lake Macquarie is a big lake. They tell me over 70km to drive around but GOOD mooring spots are hard to find. Usually a little exposed especially if the wind changes direction. We like Bird Cage Bay, near Wyee Point on the s/w corner. Watch for the reef as you enter, it's clearly marked though. Pulb...

Re: Introducing WindSong

G'day and congratulations. Before moving to Lake Macquarie my Admiral and I spent many happy days and the occasional week on the Hawkesbury. We would launch at Parsley Bay near Brooklyn. Very sheltered and room to move. But that's a long long way from Willow Vale. Americas Bay and Refuge Bay can get...

Re: What's the coating on the trailer?

Thanks for that.

My reason for asking IF it is POR-15 is that I am considering using it for the repair job, but don't want to waste my time/effort/money if it didn't work in the first place. A work mate has used it on his restored cars and reccomends it.

Re: Cooler...

I bought a four day cooler to fit the tub. Just fits and works well. Then I put two square plastic buckets in the cooler and filled them with ice/drinks etc. Cooler stays dry and I just empty the bucket over the side. Much easier than lifting a half full cooler out of the tub.

What's the coating on the trailer?

If this has been dealt with previously - I apologise. The trailer for my 2000X is badly corroded, in some places quite badly, even after washing it everytime it was used. I don't know if the P.O. was as carefull as the trailer was freshly painted when I purchased. Funny, I had a feeling at the time ...

Re: OZ members

G'day I'm a bit late for this thread but, my X lives on Lake Macquarie and although I won't be around for any get-together in October this year, would love to meet and greet any other Macs on the Lake at any time. So will also keep an eye out in future. This is a great forum and having read the prev...
