Re: Rusty swivel bracket, Honda 50
Hello Opie..great diagnosis of the problem. My 01 BF50 has this problem, but i rarely connect the steering linkage to it because iam content to motor along at 6 mph with the outboard always centered straight. It works for me as iam on a mooring for the season and dont need that extra control.I read of ...

Re: Admiral
Hey Bill,if the comments on your ingenious easy cleat, aka "Bills E Z Cleats",were counted in the format, you would have reached that milestone years ago.Im sure we all wish they were still available,as your upgrade to the Garhauer Marine Swivel Cams is a much better product. One things for s...

Re: Recommended method to keep non-skid clean?
So i assume this group is those lucky sailors who keep their boat at a marina slip or on a mooring ball for the boating season. We have the problem of trying to figure out how to keep the non skid topsides, cockpit clean without harming the deck or the environment while floating in the water. Its my sp...

You cant go wrong with Garhauer Marine for price and quality.Just be aware that even the smallest blocks they have are big and heavy duty especially for our size boats!

Re: Check your outboard internal anodes
Hello Sailors, a little more FYI on this internal anode topic.Talked with the PO today and he said he never changed the internal anodes so what you see in my pic is the 2001 BF50 original. It's my understanding that the anodes are only working when they are in contact with water. That would mean the a...

Re: Check your outboard internal anodes

I don't have a service manual and i just found out there is another one!Two per engine, located inside the water passages on both intake and exhaust side. The water jacket cover on t...

Re: Love me my Honda BF50
I have had my 01x and BF50a for three seasons now and it has lived up to its reliable name. However it does remind me of my 79 Accord 3 door in the corrosion department. The drivetrain in that car was solid but the fuel line and body ended rusting out. Granted the PO and myself are in the salt, but ...
