Re: Jib Tear at Sheet Attachment

That's exactly what North Sails identified, along with apparent shrinking of the leech cord.

Re: Jib Tear at Sheet Attachment

Thanks for the guidance Tom, below is the photo. I communicated with North Sail out of New Orleans, I'm going to let them have a look before proceeding. I agree with everyone that the age of the sale may make a repair impractical, but I'd like to squeeze a bit more life out of it if i can, just to d...

Re: Jib Tear at Sheet Attachment

The sail is 20 years old, though very well stored and maintained. No other indications of problems, but it's a good question - it could be simply old and drying out. There was nothing special going on at the time, the ring just tore out under normal wind conditions (~10-15mph). Thanks for the info, ...

Jib Tear at Sheet Attachment

During a recent sailing trip, the metal ring in the jib where the sheets attach tore out of the jib. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get this repaired? It's not a simple tear given where it's at. And because this jib is part of a furler, removing the jib will not be an easy task! I'll ...

Re: Honda BF50 Idle Problem

Thanks everyone for the information, very helpful. Any info on carb syncing would also be appreciated, even links to procedures or shot manuals. I have the Service Information book but it only shows illustrations, it's only marginally helpful. I use alldatadiy.com for auto service info - wish I coul...

Honda BF50 Idle Problem

I have a 1997 Honda BF50 with a bad idle problem. The engine starts flawlessly but idles high. I've adjusted the idle screw but that's not the problem. When I manually move the throttle linkages, the idle settles to normal. It also idles perfectly in gear (forward and reverse). So the high idle sitt...

Re: Cushion Covers

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm a relatively new 26X owner and wanting to clean my blue interior cushion covers (cloth on one side, vinyl on the other). It sounds like a good option is machine washing these, but I'm wondering how the vinyl will hold up in a washing. Any guidance or experien...

Re: how far does the centerboard line let out

Seems like the travel is more than 18", but I don't recall exactly. But the top of the CB has a stop, so when you let it down you should be able to feel it hit that stop. Keep in mind any cross or rearward pressure against the CB will keep it from lowering, so you may not feel it lower all the ...
