Re: Centerboard line ... Help!
I just recently changed my board. The wire was connected to a bolt that passed through the centerboard. I removed it using a screwdriver and a small wench. So basically the wire was crimped to itself and the bolt went through the loop in the wire and then bolted to the centerboard this is a 98 X Hop...

Re: Boat Ramp, sink or swim!
This kinda reminds me of when I had my Hobie Tandem island. After we launched I was having trouble finding a parking place so I backed the trailer tires off the edge of the bulkhead in the swamp next to the launch, I thought that I would drive off when we were ready to leave, but I was wrong. When w...

Re: 1ea. start and house bat or 2 house batteries?
One other thing that we do is carry a small harbor freight 900 Watt generator for the last 2 years in case we have to recharge the batteries, however it hasn't been used for that purpose yet only used at night for Xtra lighting for night fishing

I'm in the same boat... No pun intended. I'm thinking of just using 2 optima dual purpose group 34 for house and starting. I used them before and had good results.

Re: April gulf islands sailing trip
I'm not at any specific marina . The boat is docked at my house on the trailer lol .
Not far from Cabela's. On the start of our trip we plan on putting the boat in at Pontchartrain landing, staying the night there and then departing for the island's

April gulf islands sailing trip
Planning a week long sail from Lake pontchartrain to Petite Bois island off the Mississippi coast, with stops along the way at the other islands.
Curious if anyone has any good tips, anchorage suggestions or stops along the way that would be nice.
Thanks in advance

Re: Greetings from a New X'er in Louisiana
No worries on the handle. So how easy/hassle free will it be to get your boat on a trailer from the slip? In regards to overnighters we are going to try and make a trip through lake P to the Miss. islands this year..... hopefully. Recently did an overnighter to lake Verret and that was a blast. We c...

Re: Greetings from a New X'er in Louisiana
Congrats on your boat acquisition I'm located not far from Cabela's In Gonzales. We make trips out to Lake pontchartrain , Lake Verret , and soon to Grand isle. Our trips to lake Verret are motor only catfishing trips as the average lake depth is approx. 5 ft. We will have to meet up. I think there ...
