Re: what's the deal with unhooking the engine?
Mine is set up to do that. I did it a couple of times but it is a PITA. Never have done it since. I leave it down and in neutral, never noticed much of a difference. Been sailing that way for 5 years.

Re: Single handed off and on.
I feel your pain. This is what you need.
I think they are called "Wife". I got one about 23 years ago, they are rather expensive, and It seems they require a lot of maintenance, but they are priceless.
Perhaps West Marine or some other some such place you can find one.

Nels

Re: Furler Sail Replacement Question
Thank you guys. Reading the instructions I may be able to do this without lowering the mast. I hadn't realized there was a halyard inside the luff tape. Good stuff guys. I don't know what the life expectancy is but it served well for 9 years in Biscayne bay and one year here back in Texas. Regards, ...

Furler Sail Replacement Question
Hi Guys, I have a 2001 26x with 150 genoa on a CDI flexi-furler. This was installed when the boat was commissioned. So I also have the factory Jib, brand new never been used. I've owned the boat since 2006 so PO had this done. The sun and weather have really decayed the leech and the foot of the gen...

Isotope Catamaran 16
Hi Guys, Been awhile since I have posted. We moved to Tx from Fl about 2 weeks ago and are discovering lake sailing here on Lewisville lake. Has anyone ever had or sailed a Isotope 16' Cat? Found a sweet deal on one and was thinking of getting it to have with the 26X here on the lake. Regards, Nels ...

Drams, Hit me up. Where are you? The wife and I keep Hog Heaven at Black Point. We were out Sunday also for the afternoon, about 12 - 5. Sailed south, toward Turkey point and saw the airshow at homestead, we were headed back when the Thunderbirds were performing. Winds were 25 - 30 mph with gusts to...

Re: Emergency Steering for Racing.
I had the misfortune of my steering cable stripping out coming into our inlet. It takes about 15 minutes to get through with lots of traffic. I lashed my boat hook onto the steering bar with ropes and bungy cord and used it like a tiller.

Hey Bob, You have to snorkle Carysfort lighthouse, google it, lots of mooring balls and some of the best reef around, all in about 20 feet with the coral heads coming almost to the surface. We sail out of Blackpoint Marina in Biscayne bay, sounds like you will be farther south but if you are up our ...

Hey Lloyd,
Haven't seen you around in a while buddy. When are we going to sail together so your sleek boat can kick our butt?
