Re: Water ballast vent
I haven't even got my 97 :macx: wet yet and I already know this ballast thing is going to be a nuisance. As you know on this version the ballast vent is located under the step. What was Roger thinking? I'd like to relocate mine to the forward berth area but I'm not sure if I can just drill a 1"...

Re: Any 26X / 26S owners close to Oakville, Ontario?
Hi there. I live in Belleville Ontario. About two and a half hours away but unfortunately my 1997 26X has not yet hit the water with me in it. Hopefully that will change in a couple of weeks.

Re: Instruction to setup a 1999 Macgregor 26x
I can sure relate to that. I just put up my mast and sails for the first time. It's like spaghetti until you get it all sorted out. And then even after you get it all up, you have to figure out how to tension it all. I'm still working on that myself.

Re: EV-100 Auto Pilot Install
I have been thinking of using one of these autopilot systems with a chartplotter to guide my way?

Re: 97 Ressurection
The Honda motor runs like new. I had to clean the carbs 4 times before I finally got all cylinders firing and by a stroke of luck my neighbour had a set of vacuum gauges and we were able to synchronize the carbs. What a difference. The interior is completely stripped right now so I think I'll take T...

Re: 97 Ressurection
The old 40 hp honda motor is finally running. Still not right but getting there. The problem is the carbs. They were full of that greenish brown gunk. The little jets that look like pen refills were clogged solid. I have removed and installed them twice and now 2 out of 3 are working. I've heard it ...

Re: EV-100 Auto Pilot Install
At first I thought the 'control rope' was an odd choice because you certainly have the skill to make either a lever or button system but now I think you artfully followed the 'mac' design. I like it. I have been interested in an autopilot system for a little while. I was wondering if an off the shel...

Re: 97 Ressurection
I bet you are right Dl about the 12 gallon tanks. I'll check that tomorrow. And I agree that the holes might be an opportunity for some kind of mod?

Re: 97 Ressurection
Wow. I got some comments. Great. Thank you DL, I feel better knowing I'm not alone. And Captroner, the first mate feels the same way. She thinks that we should just scrap the 40hp and get a good or even new motor. I'm thinking Etec but I'll give this honda a chance first. Even though I was completel...

97 Ressurection
This 97X was found in a tarp and 2 x 4 hut that was filled with a mountain of junk. So much so that I could really only check both ends of the hull. The inside was moldy smelling and the motor has obvious signs of wrench work and a prop that has been ground on a rock. The steering would not turn in ...
