Re: Towing a Dinghy Behind a Classic
When I said "get a ballast pump, and a Mac is a dinghy" I wasn't talking about sailing, I was talking about beaching. On a classic, a 100 percent retractable keel and an overall light boat when pumped dry makes it easy to hand pull up on a beach, or pull into any motorboat dock; the main r...

Re: Battery charging.
You should easily be able to tell by simple inspection if the starter becomes a generator by looking for an overrun clutch or a disengaging method from the starter motor, such as a gear disengagement from the flywheel. Re: Cleaning fresh water bladder
Put a gromet in a gallon water jug cap and pass the waterline into the jug. Buy a new jug for like a dollar every so often and you don't have to worry about cleaning and filling the water system.

Re: Sagging Boom
If it's a new sail, it's cut wrong or you aren't tightening the clew enough. If it's an older sail, make sure your leech line hasn't broken loose. Either way, if you don't have your battens in, it may sag a bit.

Re: What are these?
the one on the right in the last pic looks like a boom connection

Don't know what the one on the left is, but the shiny metal part is a fairlead for looping a line around, maybe some sort of bumper holding gizmo.

Re: Battery charging.
Sufficient to charge the battery and maybe a cellphone, but not much else. They don't put much more out than a solar trickle charger.

What you get when you google "land sailing trailer"...
Has anyone ever seen any of these in actual production? I mean, this would be seriously fun at the house, I've got 500 acres of flat grass out my back door that's begging for some off season sailing...
