Re: Worst weather and waves
My worst so far was north of key west with winds from north east at steady 20 mph. In stock T26 with 60 hp etec. The swell was 4’ and I do not remember the period. On anchor the night before in a not so protected anchorage it was a bouncy night. My buddy trudged sleeping in the cockpit buy cake back...

Re: Starboard side aft leak
Mine did leak a very little in the same area, but only when it rained. Water would run down the bolt through the steering linkage and run in the pipe and then empty on to the area you describe. I filled the steering pipe with silicone sealant just behind the vertical linkage bolt and the problem wen...

Re: Tattoo 26 Mainsail
Is the foot of your main sail tight? In the photo it looks like your outhaul could be tightened up. What kind of jib do you have? Re: etec issue
Make sure you are not using the new EPA gas caps with the pressure valves. They do not work with ETEC motors without modification. Break the valve out of the cap then drill a 3/8" hole in the cap so you get good ventilation for the gas tank. The ETEC at high RPM will not put enough suction on t...

Re: Full battens?
I have a Tattoo 26 which came with a fully batten mainsail & rotating mast. My previous boat was a NACRA cat with a similar rig and sails. The battens enable the mainsail to have more surface area in the air with the same mast. The Tattoo mainsail is patterned after racing boats like the vendee ...

Reef Points
I have a Tattoo 26 with the 189sf fully battened mainsail and a roller furler jib. I am planning to add more reef points to the main sail to get more boat control with a more balanced sail plan in tacking up wind in 20+. To work with the battens I am looking at adding two more reef points as noted b...
