What is the official name of this boat?
I have a 1980 Mac 22. Ser# MACG4155M80J The serial number seems to be a hybrid. The boat has a boat liner and pop-up. Is it a Macgregor or Venture? Documentation found online would say Venture based on the year. But serial number clearly starts with MAC and the paperwork that came with the boat neve...

Re: Self-bailing cockpit
There are two drains into the cabin from just below seat level in the cockpit. No other drains for the cockpit. I have two scuppers on both my Catalina 27 and 30. But I guess MacGregor expected people to bail if water got in the cockpit like you would a day small open day sailor. Not a boat you want...

Re: Getting to the bow of a 26X

But as I get older, I am not as steady on my feet and without something substantial to hold onto, it can be tough doing anything up front. Thank goodness for roller reefing sails. Perhaps I could also get an asymmetrical spinna...

Re: giveaway storage covers .... OEM masonite for 26X, full
Would be interested for my 26X. Plus anything else you might have. I plan to keep my boat for a long while. Let me know how much to ship (if easy enough to do). Thanks for asking!

Getting to the bow of a 26X
One of the things I really hate about my 26X is the cumbersome and dangerous trek to the bow to do anything (like setting a spinnaker). Up over the cabin I have to go, with almost nothing outside of the mast to hold onto. I also own a Cat 27 and its a snap to travel to and fro using the traditional ...
