Re: Etec 60 Choke only

Thanks Tom and Jimmy!!! Yes - A Fuel filter is on order as well as a new set of plugs. I will do the fuel additive thingy to clean the injectors and various fuel channels but will first do some research after seeing what brands are available here in Muscat. The fuel bulb and hoses are relatively new...

Etec 60 Choke only

Hi All I am at wits end. The only BRP technician is far away and is expensive to get to my town when he is available to come - he is currently away until the end of this month. I have a 2010 ETEC 60 DSLIS EV serial 05269217 with less than 300hrs (we sail when out of the harbour). It has never given ...

Re: Adrift at sea

I'm not discounting the value of all the traditional location aids mentioned here, but the problem with flares is that they are of a relatively short duration, are limited in supply and are difficult to see in bright light from far away. The watcher must be looking in the direction of the fired flar...

Re: Sail boat flips

The amount of "bold" in all of us boys reduces exponentially with experience level. 8) The Admiral has been my retarding force :) No issues Boatman - I have learnt a lot from your posts, keep em coming!!! With your obvious experience level you saw things I didnt and am sure there are other...

Re: New X owner Sail Tuning discussion

We have a 2011 M and also struggled a lot to sail this boat initially, both of us newbies having just completed the level 1, 2 and 3 basic sailing intro course. It has got better over the last three years and with a lot of reading (this site has been very informative) we now can sail (no comment on ...

Re: Sail boat flips

I like this site because there are (usually) no negative personal type comments. Some of us are brand new sailors (me), some may be more bold than others and some are experienced sailors but we cannot all be perfect sailors all the time due to the ever dynamic nature of the weather, seas, human natu...

Re: Doink, doink, bloop.

:P I wonder what Davy needs another phone for - he already has the Admiral's brand new one. He is rolling pretty cool with my Ray bans, reading glasses and new Berger multi tool with (never used) wrist lanyard which made more of a 'spla gloop' than just the ordinary ' bloop' sound. 8) Done my bit, I...

Many Thanks Rob. Can you believe I didn't think of that option - will look and get back to you when I start the mod. :P I have to remember the KISS principle!

Re: New Fuel Valve

RobertB 8) - I have also been plagued by the changing of tanks and the associated chaos in the cockpit - your mod, and especially the placing, has come at just the right time - thank you. One question though - how have you routed the starboard fuel line to the valve. I have seen pics of the starboar...

Re: something interresting

I do agree whole heatedly BL , they are perfectly versatile, servicing a larger sector of the market than any other boat 8) . And exactly like you said, when you change it, it becomes a more specific boat, with a way smaller segment of the market available for sales. I have a liscence to run guided...
