Re: Covering boat for the Long Winter
Move to Florida, sail year around! Then you won't have to worry about covering/winterizing, just the darn barnacles!

Re: Backing up 26X into a tight slip!
O.K., seeing how my Sunday is going to be full day in figuring this out............ let me ask this question! CB down, rudders down, am I to leave the engine hooked to the steering, or un-hooked and straight? I plan on finding someplace to hide away from everyone but a couple of pilings or markers, ...

Backing up 26X into a tight slip!
Hello Everyone!! O.K., I have had a discussion about backing up my 26X into my slip (it has about a foot on each side, if that) and all the words of wisdom to go with it, and STILL having problems!! I could back my 33ft Hunter into this slip easier with one eye shut and one hand tied behind my back,...

Re: Backing a 26X into a narrow slip!
Nice, I was just wondering about the prop spin as in a keel boat with the prop before the ruder, same affect, almost! This weekend I am going to take her out away from everything and see what I can come up with!
Thank you for your help and suggestions, well noted!

Re: Backing a 26X into a narrow slip!
Hello Russ! I am at a wooden short slip with pilings on each side and about 6" maybe of clearance on each side, and as I get closer to the Seawall, the shallower it gets, I am afraid of catching a rudder on a piling as well as the seawall, not to concerned about dragging the CB. Last time in, I...

Backing a 26X into a narrow slip!
Hello again! Well as you all can tell, I am still getting used to, and a lot of good information from everybody about the 26X, thank you, working on the transformation from a keel haul 33ft 1981 Hunter to my 26X! I have never really had to back my Hunter into a slip that I can remember, but I do kno...

Hello Dave! Like wise, nice meeting you again as well!! :D After Saturday nights and knowing what I knew, I didn't want to bring it up in front of Vickie and freak her out 8) ............ but yeah, all good information! Re: Degree of a 26X before she rolls?
Hey, no pansy there!! Very nicely put! I am used to a keel boat, a 33ft Hunter, I, like you, are a single handed sailor as well, even with the wife, she is still learning! :) I also watch NOAA and should of went with my first instinct, anchor in a cove till morning. I am now setting my rules...........

Interesting, that helps a ton, and explains a lot! I to have extra block and tackle off my old boat just for that reason, now it all makes sense! Thank you and happy sailing!

Re: 26X Aysmmetrical Spinnaker rigging help
Yup, that is what I suspected! I rigged the spinnaker/chute today! Don't know about the previous owners, but the halyard is below the jib halyard and the connected the one end of the spinnaker on the fore deck behind the anchor locker in the middle............. so when I have time, I am going to low...
